The feeder should be calibrated at startup, after one month of initial operation, and every six months thereafter. The feeder calibration should also be performed following a weigh roller adjustment; or replacement of the belt, the cpu board, a load cell module, or the microprocessor program chip.
Apply four strips of tape to the belt side curb on the same side as the calibration probes. Each strip should be positioned vertically on the belt curb. The tapes should be spaced a distance greater than the probe span. If four tapes cannot be used, two tapes may be used.
The weigh roller should be within +/-0.002 inches from the span rollers while the calibration weight is suspended from the load cell. The calibration weight simulates the coal weight to make this adjustment.
"EP" refers to extreme pressure which implies that sulfur compounds have been added. They should not be used.
